What is Mary Helen Fashion Sewing Camp?

Mary Helen Fashion Sewing Camp is a fun + educational traveling program that allows kids to explore the world of fashion design. Our curriculum guides budding designers through the entire design process; creating inspiration boards, sketching, cutting fabric + sewing actual garments. Throughout the week, each of our young designers will have the opportunity to create a skirt or a pair of shorts. They will then be able to showcase their creation for their friends + family during a fashion show on the last day of camp. How Camp Works


– Camp runs Monday – Thursday

– morning session (9-1)

– afternoon session (1:30-5:30)

– Each session has 8-10 campers

– Camp is designed for kids ages 7-12 of all skill levels

– The tuition for camp is $375 ~ includes all supplies: sketchbook, camp t-shirt, totebag & sewing kit

– Each camper will get to design and sew their own skirt or pair of shorts which they will model in a fashion show on the last day of camp



Camp is an exciting week for more then just the campers! As a host you’ll be able to engage with your community in a new way and bring new + loyal customers into your boutique all week. Being a camp host is fun + easy! We will lead and support you throughout the whole process and provide an awesome experience for you + your customers.

what we need from you:

– help us bring 16-20 kids to camp by promoting camp to your customers and community

– space to hold camp that is at least 7′ x 11′  with reasonable access to electricity


Our typical camp setup takes up approximately 7 X 11 feet of floor space – see diagram below. We have successfully held camp in boutiques both big and small, and are confident that we can make any situation work!


We handle all registrations and payment processing through our website – maryhelenstudio.com. Your camp location will have it’s own event page where customers can sign up for the morning or afternoon session of camp. Registration for summer 2017 camps will open on or before February 1st. Full camp payment is due at the time of registration but we do offer a payment plan schedule for those needing financial assistance.

Nothing! We will bring with us tables, stools, sewing machines, extension cords and everything necessary to have an awesome week of camp!

Camp is free to host, we simply ask for your commitment in helping us make camp a success!

Our camp leaders will do everything for camp from greeting campers to cleaning up at the end of the day so that there is nothing you need to do. However, we welcome you to interact with us as much as you’d like whether it’s taking photos or chatting with the kids while they work!

The day before camp begins we will need to get into your boutique to do setup for camp. The camp leader assigned to your week of camp will work with you to setup the best time to do this. If your store is not open before camp starts, we will also need someone to let us in 15-20 minutes before camp starts each day.

Each Mary Helen Fashion Sewing Camp is lead by a pair of trained Mary Helen Studio representatives. They are your go-to’s for your week- they will set-up camp, communicate all details to parents and make sure the kids have an awesome week at camp!
